Dominican Republic Tentative Itinerary  March 1-10, 2027


Day one. Flight into Santo Domingo and settle  into the hotel


Day two. Visit the colonial zone of External link opens in new tab or windowSanto Domingo where we will have a guided tour of the old city.. We will see the first school,  the first hospital, and the first fort in the Americas. (Lunch included) In the afternoon we will visit External link opens in new tab or windowTres Ojos, three beautiful underground pools near the center of the city, similar to the cenotes of the Yucatan. Overnight in Santo Domingo


Day three. We will leave Santo Domingo, and travel toward Puerto Plata. On the way, we will visit  the monument dedicated to Columbus's arrival to the island. Finally we will head north to External link opens in new tab or windowPuerto Plata for a few days. We will be here for the next 4 nights where we will use this area as a base and also there will be a variety of optional activities to choose from. Overnight in Puerto Plata.


Day four. For the thrill seekers we will have an optional trip (price included) to External link opens in new tab or window27 Water Falls   Hike up a hill and work you way down 27 water falls with pools and natural slides of pristine clear water. A must do if you are adventurous.   If you don't want to jump from cliffs into the pools or take the slides you can take the short trails around the ledges and just get into the pools.It is a beautiful place unlike any other that we've seen.  Overnight in Puerto Plata.


Day five. Free day in Puerto Plata . There is a fabulous beach close to our hotel as well as options for tours in the area such as a city tour of the old part of Puerto Plata, External link opens in new tab or windowOcean world (similar to Sea world) External link opens in new tab or windowMonkey Jungle with zipline, or stay at the hotel and relax by the pool or nearby beach. Overnight in Puerto Plata


Day six. Today we will take a day trip to External link opens in new tab or windowParadise Island, a truly unique experience  where you can snorkel in crystal-clear waters and enjoy breathtaking views. Lunch is included on the tour. Overnight in Puerto Plata


Day seven. Today we head to the beautiful beach town of Las Terrenas.   On our way there,  we will make a stop for a swim in a freshwater External link opens in new tab or windowcenote.  Lunch will be included at this stop. Overnight in Las Terrenas


Day eight. Guided whale watching tour through the bay. This is a great way to see External link opens in new tab or windowhumpback whales with their babies in this protected bay.  Every year during January and February the whales come to this area to have their young.  Excellent guides explain the migration and birthing habits of these huge gentle creatures. Upon our return we will stop off at a nearby island for some lunch , beach time, and snorkeling. This is a really nice day to relax and enjoy one of nature's wonders. Overnight in Las Terrenas.


Day nine. Another free day to relax and explore this beautiful area of the Caribbean. Enjoy the nearby beach with its crystal-clear waters and soft white sands. Or book horseback riding, ATV tours or nearby waterfall tours. Overnight in Las Terrenas.


Day ten Flight Back home.
