Day 1—Flights arrive today in Managua.  We will then board our bus and travel to the beautiful Spanish Colonial city of Granada and settle into our hotel there.

Day 2— Today we will do a short tour of this picturesque and beautiful city where we will see the oldest church in Central America , San Francisco Convent, among other fabulous Colonial style buildings.  Founded in 1524, Granada is set on the shores of Lake Nicaragua and is one of the oldest cities in the New World.   Next we will travel a little way through the countryside to Masaya where we will visit a ceramics factory, tour the Coyotepe prison, and view the Laguna de Apoyo crater.  We will have lunch overlooking the crater, then return to the hotel in Granada.

Day 3—This morning we will venture out to explore the Mombacho Volcano where we will take a refurbished military jeep on a ride to the reserve.  After a short tour of a coffee farm, we will continue on a nature hike on the volcano where we will have panoramic views of the city of Granada and Las Isletas.   There will be an optional canopy tour (zip line) for those who are interested.  After lunch we will explore Las Isletas of Lake Nicaragua, a mini-archipelago of over 300 tiny islands that were formed from volcanic eruptions.  Many are privately owned but a few have hotels and restaurants.

Day 4—This morning will be free for you to do as you like.  Wander around this quaint town and explore the central park, cobblestoned streets and colonial style buildings and churches. You may want to go to the local market or take a horse and cart ride through town.  We will make arrangements to attend church for those who are interested.  After lunch we will make a visit to an orphanage and take items for the little girls there.

Day 5—Today we check out of our hotel and head to Managua.  We will tour the city there, including Revolutionary Square where much of the political history of Nicaragua unfolded.  We will take an afternoon flight to Big Corn Island, where we will settle into our resort by the sea!

Day 6-- Breakfast at the hotel.  Today is a  free day to explore this beautiful, idyllic Caribbean island.  Rent a moped, golf cart or taxi around the island.  There are plenty of crystalline water beaches to explore.  Go snorkeling, fishing, or just relax at our resort or one of the many beaches on the island. Walk to the high point of the island for a beautiful view from the top..  Or just stay at the resort and laze by the pool and listen to the waves crash against the rocks.

Day 7- Breakfast at the hotel.  Today we will take a ferry to Little Corn Island.  We’ll spend a few hours hiking around and exploring what this tiny jungled and pristine little place has to offer.

Day 8-- Breakfast at the hotel.    Another free day to repeat what you did on Day 6 or finish up exploring the rest of the island.  If you like lobster, this is a good place to indulge yourself.

Day 9—Today we will need to check out today to head back to Managua for our flight home tomorrow!
