9 night/ 10 day!
Included in the price is airfare from Salt Lake, hotels, breakfast each day,
bus transportation, all taxes and activities listed below as 'included'.
Tentative itinerary (order/days of each activity may vary)
Day 1--We will fly into San Jose where we will check into our hotel near the airport.
Overnight in San Jose.
Day 2—Check out of our hotel and head North toward the quaint city of La Fortuna,
set at the bottom of the Arenal Volcano. On the way, we will make a stop at the
Garden of Eden-like La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Lunch will be included. After
spending time at this tropical paradise, we will drive to La Fortuna and settle into our
hotel. Overnight in La Fortuna.
Day 3- This morning we will include entrance into Los Lagos Resort. Enjoy a
relaxing day of hot and cold pools, water slides and a nature area with some local
animals. The grounds are gorgeous! Entrance is included but it will be around
$30-$35 or so extra to do their zip line. It’s a good one for beginners. Buffet lunch
included. Overnight in La Fortuna.
Day 4—Free morning. There are lots of tour operators to hook you up with
rafting, nature hikes, horseback riding, ATV riding, zip line tours, hanging
bridges, etc. Cost for activities on your own. Overnight in La Fortuna
This afternoon, we will include a trip to Baldi Hot Springs. It’s a series of
28 different thermal pools at varying temperatures. Pictures included in
slideshow linked above. Buffet dinner included as well. Overnight in La Fortuna
Day 5—Boat trip to Caña Negro Nature Reserve. (Included) It’s a leisurely
boat ride where we will have a chance to see lots of animals.. caiman
(crocodiles), turtles, monkeys, lots of birds, etc. It’s an all day tour with
lunch included This is included in the price of the tour Overnight in La Fortuna
Day 6— Today we will check out of our hotel to drive to Manuel Antonio,
which is on the coast. We will stop for lunch as well as to see giant crocodiles.
We should get to Manuel Antonio early enough for you to enjoy an afternoon
at this beautiful beach. Overnight in Manuel Antonio.
Day 7— Today we will go into Manuel Antonio Park. We will include payment
for entrance as well as for nature guides and stay all day at the park.
There are nice beaches inside so we can just hang out there all day if we
want. There are tons of animals to be spotted.. sloths, white face monkeys,
squirrel monkeys, frogs, raccoons, etc. The guides are really good to help
point out animals. The beaches here are beautiful. Overnight in Manuel Antonio
Day 8— Today is a free day to just hang out at the beach, go on a fabulous
canopy tour (zipline) outside of Manuel Antonio, horseback riding, fishing, ATV
riding, parasailing, etc. (Cost on your own for today's activities)
Overnight in Manuel Antonio.
Day 9-- We will need to check out of our hotel around noon..Before leaving Manuel
Antonio, we will do a sunset catamaran cruise (included) where we take a tour of the
waters around Manuel Antonio Nature Reserve. If we’re lucky we’ll see some dolphins!
Next, we will drive a couple of hours back to San Jose. Overnight in San Jose.
Day 10— Flights home
