The following are due dates for payments. You may
pay in full at any time, but payments must be made
by dates listed below in order for us to make hotel
and airline payment deadlines.
$1450 per person, double occupancy
**Initial deposit of $300 per person to hold
**2nd payment of $550 per person due Sept 1, 2012
Balance of trip ($600) due November 1, 2012.

Itinerary:
Monday, Jan 14--We arrive in Cancun this afternoon where we will be met by our
air conditioned charter bus which will transport us to the beautiful
colonial city of Valladolid.
We will check into our hotel where you will have time to unpack before
exploring this delightful town . Take a short 10-15 min. stroll into
the town center to check out the beautiful park and centuries old
church and enjoy the atmosphere of this wonderful city.
Tuesday, Jan 15--We will board our bus and head to the ruins of Ek Balam,
a newly excavated Mayan city with spectacular architecture and
beautiful carvings. Next, we will
travel to Cenote Xkeken (also known as Dzitnup), where you will be able to experience one of
the incredible phenomenons of the Yucatan. These are fresh water pools
or 'lakes' found all over the peninsula. (Read about cenotes in National Geographic here.) You can swim in the cenote or just
enjoy the beauty of this incredible 'cave'. Next, we will visit a
nearby typical Mayan village, where we will leave clothing and gifts
for the local people. You will be able to see just how these wonderful
people live and get a peek into one of their humble homes.
Wed, Jan 16--We will
need to check out of our hotel this morning before visiting Chichen Itza,
one of the most well known Mayan archeological sites. After Chichen Itza, we will visit Cenote Ik Kil for lunch (included) and
time to swim. Cenote Ik Kil is a well type cenote with wonderful
vegetation and waterfalls. After visiting the
cenote, we will board the bus and head to the beautiful colonial city of
Mérida.
Thurs, Jan 17--Our first excursion out of
Merida will be a visit to Dzibilchaltun,
highlighted by the Temple of Seven Dolls, a fresh water cenote, and the ruins
of a 16th century Spanish church. After visiting Dzibilchaltun, we will
have lunch and spend a relaxing afternoon at Progreso Beach, the heart of the Emerald Coast.
Fri, Jan 18--Our next Mayan
archeological visit will be to the ruins of Kabah, which in Mayan means "Strong Hand". We will then visit the large and spectacular ruins of Uxmal Uxmal stands for "built three
times" and features the Governor's Palace, The Pyramid of the Magician, a
large ball court, and the Great Pyramid.
Sat, Jan 19--We will be checking out of
the hotel so please be packed with your luggage by the bus by 9:00 am. On this day we will leave Merida for
the coast. Tulum. Tulum is an ancient seaport situated directly on the crystal clear coast
of the Caribbean. We will meet our
guide at Tulum where he will give us an explanation of the buildings and point
out many historical significances of this site. After our tour, there will be time for enjoying the clear
blue waters of this beautiful area.
We will have a few minutes to eat or buy a few souvenirs before we board
the bus and continue on our journey to the coastal resort town of Playa Del Carmen, a wonderful resort right on the Caribbean Sea.
Sun, Jan 20 These next two days will be free time to enjoy and explore Playa Del Carmen. There are many options and we have included
suggestions in your packet. Please
let us know what you’re interested in and we will steer you in the right
direction. Enjoy this tropical paradise! We will arrange today to attend a local LDS church service in the morning.
Mon, Jan 21--Another
free day to enjoy what you would like in this beautiful area of the Riviera
Maya.
Tues, Jan 22 --Unfortunately all
good things must come to an end and we must return today to SLC. We
will board a bus and head back to Cancun for our flight back home.
